Cloud Computing and Trust

Cloud computing refers to the technologies such as webservices and SOA (web 2.0), virtualization and grid computing, that would provide on demand services, application software, platforms and infrastructures. Cost savings and flexibility and consolidation of hardware and software technologies, are the benefits that spring from migration to the cloud. Sofware as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a service (PaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) are the three layers of cloud computing. Cloud computing is ushering in the era of utility computing with pay for services computing. Just like use of electricity or telephone services, the consumers or users do not need to own the infrastructures or platforms that provide these services. Amazon and Google have become key players in this field.

Privacy and security will be major concerns for widespread adoption of cloud computing services. The question is, how do we ensure trust in cloud deployments?
